RemSound Privacy Policy

RemSound for iOS and macOS streams audio between your own devices. It is designed so that no data about you ever reaches the developer.

Data collection

The app collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no servers operated by the developer. Nothing is shared with or sold to anyone, because nothing is collected.

What stays on your device

• Settings (peer addresses, volume, device name) are stored locally on your device.
• The optional stream password is stored in your device’s Keychain. It is never transmitted; it is only used locally to derive encryption keys.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while you have explicitly turned on sending, and it is always off at launch. Captured audio is sent directly over the network to the peers you selected and is never recorded, stored, or sent to the developer. When a password is set, audio is end-to-end encrypted with AES-256-GCM.

Network

The app communicates only with the peers and relay hosts you configure on your own network or VPN. Discovery announcements sent to those peers contain the device name you chose in the app.
